Which iRobot Roomba vacuum is the best?

Aside from price,which is the best. We need one for carpet and wood floors...are the units made for a combination of different types of floor or will we need to purchase two different iRobot? Either way which is the very best currently on the market? Thanks much!

A lot depends on how thick the carpet, but the 500 series seems to be better than the 400 series

Does anyone know if the irobot roomba vacuum will pick up dog hair and if they break down a lot?

I have heard NOTHING good about those money-making machines.. I would never have one because just to look at them one should know that they are NOT a vacumn machine except possibly for the smallest particles of dust.. I considered them(those machines) as just another way that companies are getting money from people

I have one. It works really well however, it will not replace an upright vacuum cleaner. Roombas do not deep clean. they just get lint and dirt off of the surface. You could easily get by with using the Roomba weekly and once a month or so drag the upright out. I have had the basic Roomba and the Roomba for pets. The basic Roomba works better and lasted longer. One of the bad things about the Roomba is that the battery life is not long. The batteries are expensive to replace.

well wat exactly do u need help wit cuase there pretty easy to use but i meaen u need help wit how to make it stay in a romm or dockin it or somfin eles

Hi, is there anyone that get a IRobot Roomba 560 from USA for use in Singapore?

I just got my IRobot Roomba 560 from USA and I know I have to get a Step up/stem down for it to use in Singapore. Can anyone advice what type of step down/power inverter to buy as the sales mentioned that it come with 40W, 60W and 80W. Based on the specifications of Roomba, it mentioned 33W, does it mean i need to get a 40W step down? Thanks!!

Does anyone know why my iRobot Roomba doesn't seem to charge? Didn't use it for a few months.?

When I place it back on base to charge, red charging light starts glowing and then turns green an hour or so later, indicating that it has fully charged. But when I start it, it runs for one second then it stops, and its power button turns red again like it was never charged at all. I tried cleaning the charging contact points to no avail. Reset the Roomba charging system. Do this by removing the Battery and holding down the “power” button for at least 5 seconds. Then reinstall the Battery. Plug the Charger into Roomba (avoid using the Home Base® if you have one so as to ensure the Roomba’s charging cycle is not interrupted.) Charge the Battery until the Roomba Power light is solid green and keep the Roomba on the Charger for an additional 72 hours (3 days). Note: Do not interrupt this charging cycle. In Max mode, run the Roomba for one complete cycle without a Home Base present, to deplete the battery. Keep track of the runtime and if it has improved, repeat steps 3 and 4 a few times. If your Roomba does not have Max mode, run several Clean cycles until Roomba stops and plays the "dead battery" song.

What's wrong with my Roomba?

I have an iRobot Roomba that is less than 2 years old. (Pretty basic model.) Recently it no longer wants to run. At first it would run for 30-60 sec then stop and give me a tone. Now its just giving me the tone as soon as I hit clean. The tone sounds unfamiliar to me (not the normal "uh oh" tone) - the tone is low-high-high-low. There are no beeps after the tone plays. The clean light is green until it gives me the tone then it blinks red. I have cleaned out the brushes and emptied the bin and the filter part. The wheels seem fine. I really cannot determine what could be wrong. Does anyone have any ideas or has experienced anything like this? I have checked the manual that came with it. Like I said in the original post - the tone is not the normal "uh-oh" tone which I have experienced in the past & have been able to diagnose and there are no beeps after the tone.

My next guess would be the battery, they are not cheap, do you have a vacuum repair place nearby? Good chance they will have batteries or maybe even let you try one.
